We use absolutely no chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. In addition to our OG certification, we also practice drip irrigation, and have extensive composting and recycling programs.
Founded by Pacific Rivers Council, Salmon-Safe is an independent nonprofit based in Portland Oregon. Their mission is to transform land management practices so Pacific salmon can thrive in West Coast watersheds. The Salmon-Safe certification program is focused on practices in six primary areas: riparian area management, water use , erosion and sediment control, integrated pest management, animal management, and biodiversity conservation. Their standards were developed over a 2 year period with biologists, agronomists, and farmers, and have been tested in the field at more than 300 farms in OR, WA, CA, and ID across a variety of crops. Fry Family Farms is Certified Salmon Safe through Oregon Tilth.
Good Agricultural Practces (GAP), and Good Handling Practices (GHP) focus on best agricultural practices to verify that fruits and vegetables are produced, packed, handled, and stored in the safest manner possible to minimize risks of microbial food safety hazards. Fry Family Farm is the first Organic farm in southern Oregon to receive this certification.
