About Fry Family Farm

Fry Family Farm is a diversified organic flower, plant start, and vegetable farm with a full commercial kitchen and retail store providing healthy food for the community.

About the Kitchen

The Farm Store offers pies, baked goods, jams, specialty sauces, pickled vegetables and fermented items prepared in the on-farm commercial kitchen using recipes that have been in our family for generations. The Baker position supports the lead kitchen manager and will have an exciting and creative position to create fresh organic baked goods.

Requirements

  • Availability to work Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Maintain a professional appearance with exceptional hygiene and grooming standards

  • Possess basic math skills, including weights and measures, and using a scale

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

  • Ability to take direction, follow verbal and written instructions, and work efficiently

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Ability to work quickly, effectively, and remain focused in a fast-paced environment

  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable, with reliable transportation

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers

  • Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control standards

  • Possess a valid Oregon Food Handler Card or be willing to obtain one

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare baked goods according to recipes, quality standards, and production schedules in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner.

  • Consistently produce and present high-quality products that meet established standards

  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen work areas, equipment, coolers, and storage areas

  • Follow all food safety, workplace safety, and sanitation policies and procedures

  • Monitor product quality and inventory levels, promptly reporting equipment malfunctions, food quality concerns, or product shortages to Kitchen Manager

  • Work collaboratively with team members and assist with kitchen operations as needed to support efficient workflow

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills & Competencies

  • Minimum 2 years of baking experience

  • Ability to quickly learn, absorb, and retain information

  • Ability to read and follow recipes, measurements, and instructions accurately

  • General knowledge of basic kitchen practices, protocols, and procedures preferred

  • Pie baking and canning experience preferred, not required

  • Experience working with fresh produce and fruit preferred, not required

Compensation

Starting hourly wage: Depends on experience. Additional benefits include free and discounted produce, products, and flowers.
