Fry Family Farm attends three Markets from March through November; Ashland on Tuesdays & Saturdays and Medford on Thursdays.

Job Description

At our Growers Market Booth, you are responsible for meeting at the Farm Store in the early morning (and on-time!), loading truck independently (but sometimes with co-worker during peak season), traveling from Farm Store to market with product, setting up the market booth, maintaining stock and appearance throughout shift, working efficiently with co-worker or independently, assisting customers, selling products, and cleaning up market space before returning to Farm Store to unload.

Requirements

  • Must have valid Driver’s License, and must be comfortable driving small box truck

  • Must be available to work from approximately 6am until 2pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays

  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

  • Maintain a professional, clean, warm, and approachable appearance

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with customers & coworkers

  • Follow directions, work efficiently, both independently and in a team environment

  • Reliable, punctual, and have reliable transportation

  • Basic knowledge of math, weights, measures, making change, and using a digital scale

  • Detail oriented, organized, and thorough

  • Excellent customer service skills including answering questions about plants, produce, and our farm

  • Retail experience and an interest in organic food, cooking, and gardening are preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Total merchandise sales, accept payment and make change for customers

  • Wrap or bag merchandise for customers

  • Answer customer questions in a friendly, polite, and helpful manner

  • Mark or tag prices on merchandise

  • Merchandise and restock products

  • Follows all safety practices and procedures

  • Other related duties as assigned

Compensation

Starting hourly wage: Depends on experience. Additional benefits include free and discounted produce, products, and flowers.
