Fry Family Farm is a diversified organic vegetable farm providing healthy food for the community.

ABOUT THE FARM STORE

The Farm Store is open year round, 7 days a week from 10am-5pm and features local seasonal organic vegetables, fruits, plants, and flowers. We offer pies, baked goods, jams, specialty sauces, pickled vegetables and fermented items using recipes that have been in our family for generations. We carry eggs, cheese, beer, and wine from nearby and an ever-changing selection of alluring plants, gifts, and household goods.

Job Description

At our Farm Store you are responsible for opening and closing the store independently, maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness, while assisting customers with questions, and selling merchandise through our POS system.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work Saturdays

  • Must be over the age of 18

  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

  • Maintain a professional, clean, warm, and approachable appearance

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with customers & coworkers

  • Follow directions, work efficiently, and work in a team environment

  • Reliable, punctual, and have reliable transportation

  • Basic knowledge of math, weights, measures, making change, and using a digital scale

  • Detail oriented, organized, and thorough

  • Excellent customer service skills including answering questions about plants, produce, and our farm

  • Retail experience and an interest in organic food, cooking, and gardening are preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Total merchandise sales, accept payment, and make change for customers

  • Wrap or bag merchandise for customers

  • Answer customer questions in a friendly, polite, and helpful manner

  • Answer the store phone

  • Mark/tag/stock merchandise

  • Merchandise and restock products inside and outside of Farm Store

  • Attend to expired stock, properly discard outdated/spoiled items pursuant to standards

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization inside and outside the store

  • Clean and sanitize work areas (including tables, floor, scales, cases, cooler, etc.)

  • Keep floors free of spills or water, removing hazardous debris from floor and sweeping

  • Follow all safety practices and procedures

  • Other related duties as assigned

Compensation

$16.00/hour or more depending on experience. Additional benefits include free and discounted produce, products, and flowers.
